PitchPlay have completed a two-week European Tour in Poland, with 21 players and four coaches travelling from the Caribbean to gain international experience and compete within professional football environments.

The tour was made possible through extensive fundraising by Jets FC, alongside additional government support, helping make the opportunity possible for the players involved. Jets FC has consistently shown its commitment to creating genuine pathways focused on delivering these experiences responsibly and with player welfare at the centre.

Across the two weeks, the squad gained invaluable experience competing against three high-level Polish sides before concluding with a showcase fixture. The opening match saw PitchPlay suffer a narrow 1-0 defeat to GKS Wikielec, who compete in the Polish 3. Liga, but provided plenty of positives and early lessons for the group to carry forward.

The squad then produced a thrilling 3-3 draw against Wilga Garwolin, another 3. Liga side, with a standout performance from Kylano, who scored a hat-trick and became the first player to score for a PitchPlay x Jets FC touring group in Europe.

A 4-2 defeat to MKS Podlasie Biała provided another opportunity for the squad to test themselves against high-level European opposition, before they closed the tour with a 2-1 win over SportsMate in the final showcase match.

Across the four fixtures, the players experienced different styles of football, new challenges and the intensity of competing in an unfamiliar environment, gaining a clearer understanding of the standards expected within professional football.

The experience has already led to further opportunities for some of the players. Six members of the travelling group are now playing semi-professionally in England, while national team goalkeeper Shahoi Dorsett has been offered a contract following the tour.

There has also been significant recognition for 16-year-old Jamil Thomas, who impressed during two days with Ekstraklasa side Motor Lublin and was offered an extended trial with the club. The opportunity allows Thomas to continue his development within Poland’s top tier and experience another level of the professional game.

We left home with a dream and returned with memories, lessons and a stronger belief- Benero Wellington

Speaking to PitchPlay following the conclusion of the tour, Benero Wellington described the opportunity “sometimes you have to travel far from where you started to discover just how far you can go.”

Wellington continued “this was a real chapter of growth, sacrifice and belief, as we left home with a dream” and returned with “memories, lessons and a stronger belief”

His reflection captures the tour's wider purpose, with the experience extending beyond the football itself and allowing players to discover what they can achieve when placed in new environments and challenged at a higher level.

With players now progressing into semi-professional football in England, contract opportunities emerging and further trials secured, the Poland tour represents another important foundation for PitchPlay and Jets FC’s continued work to connect ambitious players with international opportunities and create pathways for their future development.
