After School Clubs
Expert coaching. A safe, supportive environment. A genuine development pathway for every player, whatever their level.
PitchPlay After School Clubs are available to any young footballer at schools and colleges where PitchPlay football programmes operate. They're designed to give players more time with the ball, more high-quality coaching contact and more support, in an environment that takes the whole player seriously, not just what they can do on a pitch.
Whether a player is just starting out or is already showing real potential, our after school sessions give them the chance to develop in a structured, expert-led environment without any pressure to be something they're not yet.
How PitchPlay Differs
There are lots of after school football clubs. The difference with PitchPlay is the quality of what happens in the session and the awareness of what happens outside it.
Qualified, experienced coaches in every session.
Every PitchPlay After School Club session is led by FA-qualified coaches who plan purposeful, progressive sessions rather than simply running drills and playing small-sided games. Players develop real technical skills, an understanding of the game and positive habits that stay with them.
Small groups. Individual attention.
We keep our session sizes small deliberately. Every coach knows every player by name, their strengths, their areas to develop and how they respond to feedback. That level of attention makes a real difference, especially for younger or less confident players.
A welfare-aware environment
Our coaches are trained to be aware of the whole player, not just the footballer. If a player seems unsettled, is struggling socially or simply isn't themselves, our coaching team is equipped to notice, respond appropriately and where needed refer to PitchPlay's welfare support team.
Part of the wider PitchPlay ecosystem
Players who show exceptional potential through our After School Clubs can progress into the PitchPlay Development Centre, and ultimately into our full football and education programmes if that's the right next step for them. Every session is an opportunity, not just an activity.
Football After School. Done Properly.
For Parents
PitchPlay After School Clubs give your child a safe, structured and high-quality football environment in the hours after school. All coaches are DBS-checked and working within FA and school safeguarding frameworks.
If your child is showing particular potential or enthusiasm, our coaches will let you know. We can discuss whether the PitchPlay Development Centre or a longer-term programme might be a suitable next step without any pressure.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's experience in one of our sessions, please contact your school's PitchPlay coordinator or reach out to us directly.

If your school is not yet a PitchPlay partner but you're interested in bringing our after school provision to your pupils, we'd love to hear from you. We work closely with school sport leads, PE departments and student welfare teams to make sure our sessions integrate properly into school life.
